Sunset Beach: 2005
Sunset Beach, also known by some as Jailbait Island, is where I spent my vacation this year. If you were a 16 year old girl that looked good in a bikini when I wasn't wearing my glasses, you were most likely there too. Sunset Beach is an island off the coast of North Carolina right above the border of South Carolina. It is more of a family destination, which makes it nice and quiet. Quiet and frustrating if you're in the mood for a lil bit of a party.
Dave went with me, and one night we drove to Myrtle Beach. We hit the main strip and boy oh boy, is it somewhere I don't want to visit again. It was nothing but 18 year olds acting like 15 year olds and 15 year olds acting like 18 year olds. Assholes.
Bob = frustrated at that point.
There wasn't much to do but walk around and watch people make jackasses of themselves. Newsflash, nobody cares that you're wearing a huge fuzzy hat you little shit.
Maybe it's more accurate to sy there was nothing to do there if you were me. There was stuff for people with younger kids and all that.
That aside, it was a nice relaxing time on a pretty beach, so it can't be all bad, right?
The view from the upper deck of our house.
You can see the ocean in between a couple of the other houses. It sure is rough being a whole 300 yds from the beach at any given time.
Here is a pic from the beach, shooting towards Ocean Isle.

Pretty crowded as you can see, hard to find a spot to put your towel down.
Sadly, it wasn't all underage girls and good times. There was extreme danger to be had at every turn.
I submit to you the very face of evil.

Luckily, the man at the desk had armed Dave and I with putters, so we were safe.
Another threat...
They're called ghost crabs, and they are nocturnal. You can barely see the movement of the lil bastards skittering about as you walk around at night. I would suggest having a screwdriver or two and then trying to chase them.
