Booze and Explosions!

This is actually 2 different weekends put into one page because there isn't much to either.

First up is the Donauschwaben Oktoberfest. Good lord, I roasted animals and consumed beer by the gallon. Or was it the other way around? DAve, Igel and myself were all volunteering our time at the pig and chicken booth (it's as awesome as it sounds). In exchange we learned how to roast animals and we had a LOT of free beer... which is good because beer is freakin' expensive at those things. We had our first toast at 7am and didn't stop until almost midnight. All that... and the chicken dance too... It was a full day.

Yeah... it sure is rough being surrounded by the smell of cooking animal and drinking Oktoberfest brews all day... but we managed somehow.

And if before working this event you had told me that some of the best meat is actually on the piggie's tender lil face I would have called you a liar. Oh, I have been educated.

 

On to the second event!

Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot 10-06

Ah, the sound of a minigun spinning up...

If you've never heard it... you can't imagine it. 100 rounds per second is pretty mean. For those of you that are new to this event, it is located on an ex-naval munitions proving ground. They basically line a bunch of people up and aim at cars and washing machines all packed with diesel and explosives... then say GO.

Seeing the M-60 above reminds me... apparently someone attempted to steal one of those at the last shoot. Here is Bob's tip of the day: don't try to steal from a bunch of heavily armed hilljacks. The would be thief did not succeed.

The least safe rocket launcher... EVER.

I swear parts of that are made of wood...

But leave it to Phil to make a newer rocket launcher look dangerous.

And then in general there are just pretty things

And then... for $2000... you could own a flamethrower.

*Sniff* That one holds a special place in my heart. Someone was arguing that there were better ways to spend $2000... but while they were listing reasons I bought it and burned them to fucking death.

Well... in my head I did.
